Group Therapy

Group Therapy
Group topics:
• Improving personal relationships
• Self-esteem and emotional regulation
• Adults with ADHD
Group approach
The groups are based on brief, cognitive, and behavioral therapy techniques. Interaction with other group members and the therapist enhances the therapeutic effect and supports the work on social difficulties.
Cognitive-behavioral strategies are used to identify negative automatic thoughts in social situations (e.g., “I’m a failure,” “No one likes me,” “What if…?”), challenge them, and replace them with more realistic thoughts. This helps reduce emotions like shame, fear, sadness, or guilt.
Improving personal relationships
Designed for adults experiencing social difficulties related to anxiety, ADHD, chronic affective conditions, or recent life changes. Small groups of 6 to 8 participants, with a maximum of 8 sessions.
This group may be for you if you:
• Avoid social situations (e.g., dinners, public speaking, meeting new people)
• Feel anxious before or during social interactions
• Experience recurring conflicts with friends, coworkers, or authority figures
• Have negative thoughts like “I’m not interesting” or “What I say doesn’t matter”
• Find it hard to socialize without alcohol
• Struggle to build close relationships
• Tend to isolate or have poor social skills
What to expect:
• Learn to identify thoughts and feelings that affect your relationships
• Understand the scope of the problem
• Recognize how mood impacts interpersonal experiences
• Develop strategies to promote change
• Set concrete, achievable goals
• Receive support and encouragement to make changes
Self-esteem and emotional regulation
We can either react or respond to emotional situations. High emotional reactivity (complaints, headaches, irritability) may limit our well-being and relationships. Learning to respond helps you manage emotions in a healthier way.
Low self-esteem fuels a vicious cycle involving low confidence, difficulties in intimate relationships, and a distorted self-image. This group helps break the cycle and boost emotional health.
Adults with ADHD
This group provides practical tools to manage ADHD-related challenges in adulthood. Focus areas include self-control, impulsivity, emotional regulation, and achieving personal goals.
Groups are also available in English.
