International Experience and Teaching

I began my professional career in New York, where for 9 years I worked as a psychotherapist and director of a mental health and addiction clinic in Manhattan, and trained as a couples and family therapist at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. Since 1995, I have maintained my private practice in Barcelona, working with individuals, couples and families.

Throughout my career I have collaborated with specialised institutions and organisations, coordinating working groups and supervising therapeutic teams. Between 2013 and 2018, I coordinated the Co-Parenting Working Group of the Official College of Psychology of Catalonia, and in 2015-2016 I participated in the pilot project for Parenting Coordination at the Centre de Mediació de Catalunya. I am currently a member of the Trauma and EMDR and Co-Parenting Coordination working groups of the Official College of Psychology of Catalonia, and am involved in a cross-border mediation pilot programme for families with disputes involving the international abduction of children.

I combine my private practice in Barcelona with teaching, and hold the following positions in leading national and international organisations:

  • Vice-President of the Board of the Section on Alternative Dispute Resolution and Conflict Transformation of the Official College of Psychology of Catalonia
  • Co-Chair of the International Committee of the AFCC (Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, USA)
  • Vice-President of the Societat Catalana de Mediació en Salut (2018–)
  • Vice-President of Asociación Internacional y para Iberoamérica de Expertos en Coordinación de Parentalidad (2024–)

Previously, I served as a member of the Board of the Official College of Psychology of Catalonia (2018–2022).
