Family Therapy

Family Therapy

Family therapy offers a safe space to resolve conflicts, improve communication, and restore harmony.

The family is the fundamental foundation for the growth and learning of all people. It is where children learn how to relate to others, what to expect when they feel sad, when they make mistakes, when they need help, and how to solve conflicts. As parents, we want to teach our sons and daughters values and tools to live successfully and happily in a competitive society. However, many challenges threaten the family’s emotional balance.

What situations can family therapy help with?

  • Problems caused by external factors such as illness, job difficulties, or moving.

  • Changes in the family life cycle: birth of a child, loss of a family member, adolescence, divorce, empty nest syndrome, etc.

  • Behavioral or emotional difficulties in children and adolescents.

  • Somatization problems (headaches, stomach aches, etc.).

  • Different stages of addiction treatment (as a complement to individual therapy or to motivate seeking individual help).

Research shows that 70% of parents observe improvements in their children’s behavior, sibling relationships, and school performance after family therapy. In some cases, combined treatments may be necessary.

What is family therapy?
It is a method where the family is the unit of intervention. During therapy, several or all family members may be seen. Sessions may focus on individuals or couples within the family, but the main goal is to change interaction patterns at the family level. The aim is to strengthen family resources and help members collaborate to resolve individual and family problems.

We understand that gathering the whole family can be difficult, so we favor short-term therapy with clear objectives.
